i heart my first knit sweater!

I finished this back in January sometime and was too lazy to stitch up the seams (my least favorite thing to do). Not bad for my first sweater...I'm actually very stoked with the results.

i heart chunky knits

twinkle's big city knits by Wenlan Chia is full of amazing designs of chunky, bulky sweaters and other cozy, cold weather stuff...all of which I'm dying to knit! But one thing at a time. First, I'm tackling the Best Friend Cardigan (see photo top right). So what if I live in Southern California where it's already reaching the 70's here in the valley? I don't care...it's still sweater weather for me! My version is looking a bit fluffier than in the book since I'm using Misty Alpaca Super Chunky - one of my faves - so it will be super soft and cozy for those chilly sunsets at the beach.

Voulez vous Crochet...

I'm so stoked to finally learn how to crochet. I'm starting my first crochet bag (thanks to Alyssa @ Stitch Cafe). Just what I needed - another project!!

c'est la vie

I fell in love with the colors in this skein of yarn but now that I've seen it knitted up, uh... big mistake for what I had in mind for it. It was beginning to look more like a circus clown's wig than a sweater. The nice folks at my local yarn store were nice enough to create a pattern for me, but it's just not what I had in mind, so I'll have to rip it apart and start over...
Yet another knit hat...this one for my 2-1/2 year old godson, Alex. I'm making one for his twin brother, Jeremy, in a green colorway - his favorite color.

Needles

With all the needles I've accumulated in 3 months, I had to make a needle holder to keep track of them all. Pattern for this can be found in the Stitch and Bitch book (but all of you knitters already knew that ;)

Knit-Talia

This is my cutie patootie niece, Natalia, all warm and cozy in her arm and leg warmers fashioned out of women's socks – a fun diy project made by her mom, Sandra. Great idea!! I'd like to knit Natalia a pair of maryjane's with a faux sock attached. I found a pattern but it's sized for a preemie/newborn, but I'm looking for age 2-3 size. I haven't learned how to adjust a pattern yet, but if anyone knows where I can find it, I would so appreciate it!!
